Default beating in the Accord(no pun intended)

Today will be the last day that the accord will be on the road working. This was all in the making of me not paying attention to the road and running into the back of someone at 30 miles an hour on herndon parkway in between giant and van buren st. I know that the car will be writen off as totaled, so the Accord went out not the way i planned it. With 220xxx miles and perfect running condition. This just blows, it was like losing an arm. Both of use were okay, my airbag did not deploy, and i got a ticket for not paying full attention. Plus to make it worse, the guy i hit was spanish and didnt have a drivers licence. He dosent know if he will have the money for a lawyer by then, in which case the court will keep on continuing my case. And this will take maybe a year to figure out. Is there any way i can sue the state for even letting him drive. I like to take the full dollar out of ten cents.

well... for starters, your english sucks.

Secondly, if the car still runs, they will just go to a junkyard and find the parts and put it on for you (granted there is no fram damage).. they might NOT total it and write it off.

thats the thing, why spend the time and money to fix it. I might as well just get another car. And sorry if my language sucks. I sometimes go back and forth between english and ebonics.

Wow what world are you living in? Or what insurance do you have? A insurance company will never fix a car with junkyard parts. That statement was so stupid I honestly lol'd.

They do it all the time... Most insurance compaines will use used parts if they can find them unless the car being repaired is less than two years old...

Edit: I mean honestly, do you think aftermarket parts are made for every car and every part of cars that are twenty years old?

When I was a parts guy at a body shop, they used to fix a lot of cars with junkyard/salvage yard parts. I know for one new Subaru Forester they had that was heavily damaged, they had an ENTIRE front clip (like from just the front on they literally cut it off the car so it still had a full dash) shipped in from elsewhere and stripped the clip of what they needed and put the stuff on the car.

Honestly in most cases if you can't get OEM body parts then you want to go with salvage yard stuff. Aftermarket body parts don't fit up well at all.

Also, in some cases, using salvage parts saves a car from being totaled out.
