Registering a bike with no title?
While surfing the for sale section I have seen a couple of bikes with no title and I was wondering how would you go about registering a bike with no title.
I just asked my friend about this. He's a repo man.
"You would need to get a DMV owners transcript, file a VSA-41, send out certified/ return reciept requested letters, and wait about 30 days. If it is a bike, check DMV first...could be stolen. If he says he was the registered owner, tell him to go to DMV and get a new title. Be very careful of buying bikes with no title. It is very likely it is stolen."
Basically, ask the guy for the VIN first and go to the DMV and see if its stolen...if they say no, I'd check with local/state authorities first just to be safe.

I just got the title to a car to where the original was voided by this guy who sold it to me because he never went to get it registered in his name, but just sold it to me with the original owners signature on it.
So basically a car without a title.
Ya, i admit, i was a little ignorant about it, and kinda not playing it smart, which costed me a whole lot of wasted time and phone calls but i eventually obtained the title. I purchased the car in the first week of december of 2006 and last sunday is when i got the title. I will never make that mistake again.
