bang bang!
ok so my car has an annoying habit of backfiring a lot.it also has the tendancy to sputter sometimes when accelerating gradually.it also will almost die out when coming to stoplights every once and awhile but im sure thats from not having my BOV recirculated.i dont know if the sputtering and backfiring is from a fuel issue or from something else.i am running a blacktop S13 SR20, stock boost, a 3" downpipe into a test pipe into a mufflerless 3" exhaust, a walbro 250, greddy type RS BOV,and running a SAFC2 set up at 5 in and 5 out.can anyone give me a possible idea what could be up?
thanks

Sounds exactly like my old KA-T. The fuel pressure was way off on that, also, make sure your MAF is far enough away from your turbo as to prevent improper readings. Other then that, backfiring is fun, haha - just so long as your turbo doesn't explode!
ya im just worried about damaging something.im going to go have the timing checked/set and i know i am running rich because often times i can smell fuel and brandon has followed me before when i got on it and said all he could smell was fuel.could that be a malfunctioning fuel pressure regulator or could it be timing?maybe it could be tuned a little leaner using the safc?
I wouldn't tune it lower w/ a SAFC w/o a wide band. If you have one feel free to mess w/ it, otherwise get it on a dyno. I also recommend getting a fuel pressure gauge if you don't have one - as that is what was wrong w/ my old KA-T.
