My pad's are pratically brand new, my rotor's too, but for some reason they squeal when i start braking. anybody have any remedies in getting rid of brake squeal, i'll eventually get ceramic pads, but the one's i have now are fine. any remedies?

 

Use disk brake cleaner. That might help

 

You running aftermarket pads? A lot of them tend to be pretty noisy. Try using some brake silencer on the contact points of the pad where the pads sit in place on the mounting bracket. That seems to help most of the cars we have come through the shop.

 

cant your brakes squek even if u just have some dirt in between the pad and rotor or something like that.. correct me if i'm wrong please

 

you are right thats why brake cleaner will help or brake silencer.

 

Where the claiper meets the brake pad I like to use a lot of Brake lubricant.. Sometimes if you don't use enough or any that may cause a sqeaking noise.. There is a lot of movement where they meet..

 

- did you use brake grease on back of the pads? If not, that will guarantee squealing. Never leave out that step.

- do your stock brakes use a shim? If so, make sure you use new shims when you change your pads. If you leave them off, they will squeal and will not work 100% efficiently.

- spray some Anti-Squeal on the back of the pads. Obviously you would want to do this before you apply the grease. You could actually use just the spray to try to remedy the squealing; but I recommend using the grease every time so that your brakes work properly. It's messy stuff, but required for a proper brake job.

 

Nope, i'm not using aftermarket pads, but i think brake silencer will do the trick, it all started after i cleaned my wheels, so im thinking some of the gunk got onto the rotor surface, thanks guys.
