Cost of SR20 transmission rebuild

Found a pretty good deal on a 240, but it grinds in first and second when shifted too quickly into gear. Any ideas on how much I'm looking at for labor on a rebuild?? Appreciate any help, thanks.

You can pick up a ka gearbox. It'll be much cheaper than a rebuild, unless you wanted to do the rebuild yourself and have smooth new tranny.

hmmm i think i might do that. This is going to drastically change the driving experience though isn't it? I mean, I assume that the gears ratios are much different since they two engines are completely different correct?

same ratios. only ca's are different, and thats only in fifth.

wow thats really good to know. Makes you wonder why people are paying another 800+ for the transmission when they could just use a KA transmission??

cause its not jdm and people are retarted.

haha sounds like it. For some reason I would think that the KA transmission would be stronger too... I dunno why... guess just because its attached to a truck engine lol. Any truth in that or is it just all the same components
