Im debating between a Canon Rebel XTI or XSi and Nikon D80. Which one would you prefer or is there one a bit better than the two, so far im leaning towards the D80 but any suggestion would be considered...thanks

ive owned a cheap point and shoot camera and just want to upgrade....if im gonna spend money i wanna get something where i dont have to upgrade for a long time u know?......i just want to get expereinced photographers or hobbiers opinions as to what they'd prefer cause I dont want to spend money on something thats not suitable for what im looking for....I thought about the d40's but a friend of mine an upgrade such as da D80 but another told me sti is better

if you're beginning you don't need to spend as much money for a Nikon D80. Stick with either a d40 or the canon xt. They both can be had used for about $350. The d40 NEW with lens is still $500.
