Okay,
I've been having some trouble for a few weeks with this one. I changed the oil and oil filter a few weeks ago and, even before then, my oil light comes one at the beginning of start up. You lean the bike to the right, and the oil light goes off.
You ride for about a minute and it comes back on. You stop and it goes out.
You ride again and the mother fucker comes back on. Since you know it has oil, you keep riding and then like magic, the oil light goes off.
Can anybody fathom why its doing this? My only thought is that the oil sensor is fouled, and it just needs a tiny bit of oil to touch it, and as the bike heats up, finally its doing that.
Any other ideas?
and yes, as stated before, the damn thing actually has oil to the level.

I know the oil pressure sending unit in my Explorer was on its way out and acted like this. It wouldn't show pressure for like ten minutes, then it'd come to and randomly drop away. I'd check into that.
