Default dumb question???

i dont know if this is a dumb question or not be me and my buddy were talkin bout it today...
has anyone ever ran a carfax on a bike to make sure its not a salvage or stolen or whatever.?.?.?
im thinkin bout buying a bike outta state but before i drive 10hrs 1 way i wanna make sure im not gonna have any problems or whatever its a really good deal and everything seems straight just would like that sense of security....

its on 07 gsxr for those who are wondering
its got 800 miles askin 7k obo
prob gonna go get it this week or next week

to my understanding for the most part, there is no legitimate record like Carfax to check the history of a bike.

if my memory served me correct, carfax works on bikes too... but its not very accurate since most sportbikes are fixed by the owners after a wreck.

you can test it by getting the vin and plugging into their site and see if it accepts it and how many results the vin kicks back.

Carfax sucks. They have guidelines about what they put on there and what they dont. My car was in a accident and i ran a carfax and it didnt even list it. Dont rely completely on them use common sense and run a check with dmv to see if its stolen
