Inspection question, cracked windshield
My truck is up for inspection, and the windshield has a crack in the lower righthand side. What's the rule to pass inspection? Anybody know?

Picture of crack??
I believe if it's a stress or hear crack, your ok.
But if it's cracked due to a rock or something then you fail.

Re: Inspection question, cracked windshield
It happened at Home Depot, looks like someone was loading lumber in thier car and the board smacked my windshield. It's at the lower right side near the cowl, and it has a couple of "runs" that are about 4" long or so.

Re: Inspection question, cracked windshield
Inspect for and reject if:
7. There is a pit, chip, or star crack larger than 1½ inches in diameter at any location in the windshield above the 3-inch line at the bottom.
8. At any location in the windshield above the 3-inch line at the bottom there is more than one crack from the same point if at least one of the cracks is more than 1½ inches in length. There is any crack that weakens the windshield so that one piece may be moved in relation to the other. (If there is more than one crack running from a star crack that extends above the 3-inch line, the windshield shall be rejected.)
Kind of a crazy section in the manual. Like someone else said, kinda have to see it to really know if it will pass.
