Alright this sounds dumb but i need info (manual transmission)
Alright have a civic with a motor swap in it. However I still have the same trans that came with my civic on the different motor. I was driving the other day and I heard a noise. It turns out it was my shifter I started playing with it and sure enough it went into neutral w.o me engaging the clutch. Sure enough I could change gears without using the clutch. I don't think this is normal can anyone come up with a solution or am I just over reacting?
I can change gears without using my clutch, too. It's called matching the RPMs. I'm pretty sure that's the only way to do it.

So are you just able to shift into the different gear positions without the clutch? I'm assuming you can't actually change gears, and that the transmission is stuck in a particular gear at the moment, even though you can move the shifter to other gear positions?
