Do i have a grace period before registering a bike in VA?
hey all,
I hope some of you can anser my question. I just purchased a bike which had a lein holder on it. The seller paid off his loan with my money. Seller gave me a faxed copy that says it is paid off, and I have the title in hand. However, I am still waiting for the certified copy that will come in by mail. Does anyone know if the DMV will require the certified document to register the bike, or can i still use the faxed copy from the corp. to get it registered.
I went to DMV today and they were closed until next Tuesday for Memorial day.. arghh..
So.. I was wondering if there is some kind of a grace period before you register your bike.
For example, if you buy a used car from a private seller, you would drive it home without a tag, but you have a proof of sales. Is this the same for bikes?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,,
