What have you done to it recently?

 

nothing it has all msd ignition tho. but i dont think that should have anything to do with it. my buddy put my ecu on his car and it made his car idle funny and it threw a CEL on his car, but he could rev his motor past 4500 with my ecu

 

so what ecu is on your car now.....

 

i belive the d16y7 manual ecu not sure tho.

 

get the number off the side of the ecu..

 

what motor do you have

 

Does the MSD box have a two step rev limiter or just an adjustable rev. limiter on it that isn't set for your car? Some people us MSD rev limiters for staging and rely on the stock ecu rev limiter to handle over reving the engine. Maybe.....

 

The cam or crank sensor signal might be dropping out and would get worse with increasing RPM, but that would normally be a lot more random than what you're seeing and would normally trigger a CEL if it's bad enough to act like a rev limiter instead of just a slight miss.

 

no it doesn't have a 2 step. all it has is a msd ignition coil. msd wires and a msd cap
