a friend of mine had a project bike that he was gonna work on but he got a new bike and gave me his old one. Its a 86? 1000cc Ninja and the body panels are cracked it has no key or title it needs a radiator and something is wrong with the oil system i believe. I have never owned or ridden a bike so im just looking into suggestions on what i should do with it. like is it worth it to fix and sell it? since i've never riddin a bike i know i shouldn't try to learn to ride on it. what do you guys think?

 

sounds like a serious money pit, if you are interested in riding sell or trade that for something with less problems. Keep in mind how much that shit is to fix, i bet you have around 1000 dollars in body work alone after paint. And i dont want to get into the problems you will have with dmv without a title.

 

how much do you think i can get for it? how much would a good starte bike cost? i was looking at some like 250cc ninjas or something like that. I'm not gonna have a lot fo money for a bike and i havnt really seen any cheaper bikes around here.

 

 

is he giving it to you for free? if so put it on ebay and anything you make is pure profit, put that towards a ninja 250 or something

if you have to pay anything more than a hundred bucks for it i would say its not worth it though, even in good running condition i can't imagine that bike pulling in any more than 2k on its best day

 

yeah im getting it for free. does anyone know someone that has any smaller cc bikes for sale?
