Default burning smell

this goes with the thread i posted earlier about having problems installing an exhaust in the eg hatch. i bought a new cat, and installed it with an apex ws2 exhaust in a 95 eg6. but after installed it, after i drive the car around, and i get out ..theres a strange burning smell. its not like exhaust fumes, it smells like somethings burning, like plastic or something not sure? anyone have ideas what it is? gasket burning? not too sure, the install went pretty smoothly, the car runs fine, everything seems okay except the smell. anyone in nova can take a look at it ,..that would be great. or any help at all.

how long have you had the exaust and cat. it takes a few miles to get all the oil and stuff burnt off after it's installed. wait a week or so and then see if it still smells before you do anything.
