Default Beginner looking for advice

I know nothing about cars but want to start. I plan on taking the Auto 101 class at the community college but was wondering what cars would be good to start with? Something that isn't to technical or expensive when it comes to replacing/reparing.

thanks for the help!

That would leave you with either a 92-95 honda civic/delsol/integra or an older domestic like maybe a camaro or mustang.
