Skylines aren't rare. I never said they are. What's rare is a car with all wheel drive that measures G force and applies that number to a complex formula that considers a lot of other things other than G force to which wheel gets the most/least power. It's not like your regular all wheel drive system that decreases the power to the wheels that are spinning and increases to the ones that arent. It does that, but only after it's too late. It knows which wheel will spin before it spins and adjusts accordingly because of G force measurement and other things. It's something that all cars with all wheel drive systems will have some day, but they have had it for a long time now. Even lamborghini diablo doesn't have this.

Now if you simply increase the boost from 7psi to 14psi and modify the ecu you've got 500hp. You've got the power of ferrari that handles just as good as one if not better. If you replace the ceramic turbos then the sky is the limit.

well regardless of the fact that people may think they are hyped up or not, I will still be getting one. It may not be newer than a 93, but i still want one.

600 isn't bad. My Porsche made 700 HP on stock internals, and my Supra made over 850 on stock internals, and there are other Supras out there that have made over 1,000 on stock internals. Heck...Ford Cobras will make 700 HP on stock internals. I'm sure there are other cars that will as well.

Regardless, while I believe the Skyline to be a great car (just as the Supra is)....it's no P-car or F-car.

Thats just ignorant man. So I am assuming a supra requires a 100k+ to get 1000hp as well.....jeez

You can get 1000hp out of a skyline for maybe 1/10th of what your claiming man. I agree on all your other points but this one is just plain wrong.

Heck for 50 grand you could probably get 1000hp out of a honda motor..lol

Terry I believe he is talking about importing one into this country that has very low miles through Motorex. What is it like 70K-80K to get a R34 GT-R here through them? So w/ the car and all the mods, you are going to have to do to get it to that HP level, you are going to be close to that number, maybe less but still alot. We all know you got the JDM Hooookuppppppp, so it prolly would be half that price for you. Haha

But yeah I can get a r34 for half that..lol
Its just not worth that to me because I hate r34's and I would just get a supra instead. R32 on teh other hand hmmmm mmmmm

wow, I go away for a while, and Central VA dies.... Of course, it's not as fun keeping up with things when my car isn't on the road anymore, and there's not as much hating here as there used to be....

Can I keep this argument alive ??? I don't want to take anyone's side after reading through, but i noticed nobody made the point that although there are several other platforms that can make the power a skyline can on stock components, no other platform can get that power to the ground and handle as well on stock components. And THAT, my boys, is the hype of a skyline; however, yes they are blown out of proportion and made out to be god's gift to the world which isn't true.
