Ugh, my CRX is giving me a code 15 error, which apparently thats something with the distributor. So this is leading me to think that the internal coil is not functioning.


The car is getting absolutely no spark.... so its got to be something electrical, the fuel pump is priming, and fuel is getting to the rail.


please post up any ideas you can think of.....

Your coil,rotor, cap, plug wires, spark plugs. If you have really shity luck it could be your ECU but most likely not.

Start with your fuses

 

How many miles on the car? I would start with coil,rotor, cap, plug wires, spark plugs and fuses

 

most likely the rotor.

 

borrow a friends dizzy and see if it works. IF so, then it is the dizzy.

 

I've had the same symptom in the past and it was a faulty main relay in one of my CRXs and a faulty ignitor (in the distributor) in another one. The easiest way to test out both parts is just like what some others have already stated; replace with a known good working part.

 

Well is the ignitor thing the small box with four wires and a ground on it??

I've borrowed a friends distributor, but the part described above is bad on it, so im going to replace it with mine.

Also im working on looking into the Main Relay, i've had problems in the past where the car wouldn't start sometimes, mainly in extremely hot weather.... eventually after I hit the dash where the relay is located, it would start up....

Are there any other relays that would work for my app??

replace the coil and ignitor it will take you about fifteen minutes and should cure your ills.

 

I replaced the igniter and it started right up!!!


but then i took it down the road and it ran out of gas!! I walked to the station and got some, came back, put it in, and then went to start it, and its not getting any spark again!!!!

I hope that the igniter didn't go bad again!!


Any ideas please let me know.
