i was refering to video service. Obvisoulsy it's something your not used to.

I just feel sorry for their phone techs who have to deal with cable tc's now. No hate, it's just a job.

 

When I lived in the apt about 3 yrs ago I had cox and had the same problem you are having. When I moved into my house I got verizon DSL and haven't had any problems with them since.

 

Coax won't be the norm for video for much longer.

 

I've had cox in four different residences for about 7-8 years. Whenever they are working on expanding the network in your area, things slow down significantly and even stop for hours on end. But most of the time, my connection is pretty damn blazin. I'd say about 95% of the time everything is perfect and I couldn't ask for a better connection. About 4% things are a bit slow and laggy. The remaining 1% is downtime. I've been in my new place for roughly 3 months and had maybe one day where the cox people were working on something down the street and my connection was totally down. About two days after that I was laggy, and afterwards everything is good again. I guess I can't really compare cox to DSL because I have never used the competition...though my best friend has Verizon DSL and it's always laggy/down everytime I use his connection. He lives in pungo, so maybe that has something to do with it, I dunno.

In a nutshell, COX gets my vote - but I can't with good conscience have a negative attitude against Verizon DSL.

 

When I was at home, verizon dsl was still sucking balls and even worse. I guess since they are running fios they just said fuck it for dsl. Check out the super high speed I was getting for almost a month. I was consistently checking my speed and it was always low. Supposed to get 768kbps which is slow by all means. But I didnt have time to take care of it.



I run wireless in my house but to several computers but it should'nt get this low. I was getting the same speed on a non wifi PC. I have to say DSL is just plain garbage.

 

i have cavalier dsl,i think its around 25-30 a month,i never loose connection,but every now and then it gets slow due to the phone being used or something
