not to be rude, but keep thinking that. my friend joe just got his license for crabbing, 500 dollars, just for the license. plus he bought a 100 pots. crabbing isnt the easiest job, but you can make bank doing it right. not to mention you have people who steal pots. add bait, gas, and alot of time, and thats where most people crap out. 2 months ago a buddy of ours thought the same thing, hey, i got a boat, 5 pots and a good location i can just do whatever i feel like it. 2 days after starting, gets carded and lands a huge ass fine from the warden

but back on topic. its a hard life your not guaranteed to catch crabs, it is seasonal you cant fish them on Sundays. you have to find a buyer and when you do they wont want to pay you shit. if the wind is blowing you cant go out. i know alot of watermen from where i grew up. best thing to do if you do it is get a cooler truck and drive them in-land or up north. in pa where i am about to move a bushel sells for $120 give or take and here i can get them for $30

I would do that... Just buy them, drive them elsewhere, sell them. Fuck all the actual work of catching them.

lol, 100 pots is nothing compared to what my cousins pull a day. our family has been in the seafood business for over a decade. yes you do have people who steal pots and that sort of stuff. but the point i was trying to make is that if you have a shop you'll make more money than you would if you didn't.

Haha ya i did it too with blue92 and paulwhat. Ahh ya its alright i guess. Money wasnt that bad. But if you can wake up in the morning and do nonstop work till all the pots are done then sure go for it. But let me warn you the fawkin rotting fish in the pots that you pull up will make a grown man teer. That and them damn crabs can sure pinch like a mother fawker especially the big ones feels like they will take your finger off.
