When did you move there?
I lived in City Center all last year and I swore it was a paradise within Newport News, but once I hit Jefferson I was in a different world.
I work in the Denbigh area and its completely different than where I am now (CNU). I was unloading a truck out back earlier this week and some random
dude walks up to my private dumpster (which is locked, by the way) and starts shaking on the doors trying to get it open. He moves on to the next one
and continues down the row. When he first walked up with trash/etc. in his hands I thought he was just throwing it away, but I couldn't have been more wrong.

And did you go to green run or are you going off what you've heard??? I went and can tell you it's 1/10th as bad as people make it.

comparing shit to shit...lol
Friend had his front door kicked in (now owns a shotgun)... Cox guy robbed/beat down... Just two days ago there was a hit and run at Tivoli Apts. Someone hit someone with a car in anger. All this within the past 6 months. As for College Park. Lets see. Some guy shot the clerk at Texaco in the face, tried to break in my parents house and hide. The neighborhood was closed off and the swat team had to clear my parents house. Kid gets shot at the park around the corner from there house. Another time a bunch of people were driving up and down the road pointing guns out the window. I can go on and on as far as College Park goes. The bottom line is both areas are high crime. Anyway, you go on with your bad ass "pasty white ass". Just stating what I have experienced and/or been involved with.

Everyone forgets that we have the Gestapo in Va Beach, where racial and social profiling is alive and well. It will never get as bad as Norfolk or NN becasue of the high property values, therefore the high property taxes, and THEREFORE the huge number of police. I live in Green run at the corner of Lynnhaven and S. Independence, Which I admit is a nicer part of green run. I have great neighbors, with exception of one house, and I never have had a problem. Oh, and I also own a .357 Magnum (8-shot revolver....WHEEE!) and when I moved in, it was in my hip holster in plain view all day. Nobody even looks at my house.

Sure there is. Citizens need to start arming themselves. Where my parents lived (College Park), yes they moved, neighbors were afraid to call the police. My parents did and the result was court because someone was threatening to do a drive by on there house and kept driving up and down the street. Needless to say my father now carries a G21SF. People should not be scared in there own home...

How will that help ? More guns isn't the answer of solving the problem, yet yes it will feel more safer for the carrier but will be more dangerous knowing that everybody now has a firearm on them.

Mutually assured destruction. The greatest deterrent of all time.

Sorry I am not going to bite on that debate. People need stop being afraid to call the Police if they are being threatened or witness a crime. That would help.
