Hopefully it's 4k for the suspension, wheels are easy to do for way less then that.

94-95 is a good choice. Just make sure you buy one with a torsen LSD. Miata.net will help you find ways to determine which package came with the torsen, but the best advice would be to call Mazda USA with the vin # and get them to tell you. It's not something you can look at and see.

Finding a decent car for under $4k should not be too hard. There's no real reliability issues in 94-95. The CAS seal will leak, but its a $1 part and takes 15mins to replace.

Miata's are great cars, but I wouldn't want to drive it everyday, especially mine, but I am a big guy. I guess it wouldn't be too bad for a smaller person.

Yes I agree that Miata's are chick cars. I make sure I emphasize that every weekend I spank the high dollar "guy" cars in it.

Here's a shot of my feminine beauty....

I found a few 91-92's, but I want a 94-95 with the LSD like shawn said. I would need to sell my vert first in order to get a miata. Hopefully is sells soon.

I only have a 15min ride to work, so I think the miata would be a pretty decent ride for that.

As do I, if you plan on having a stiff suspension, then that's when a 15 minute drive can be uncomfortable on a day-to-day basis. Unless, you have a fun road that you take, that will make up for it.

I didn't have a problem driving my NB with a Koni/GC setup for nearly 40 miles (each way) to and from work. The Mazdaspeed cars have a ton of bracing and mine had a hard dog hard core roll bar. The car was very stiff, but just fine for a dd.

The NB's feel a little more refined IMO. My car is an NA, using Bilstein shock, JR sways. It's fine for smoother roads, but you feel everything.
