Help:350z or S2000
I found a comfortable position, the car feels great for me when i drive it. i do agree with the blind spot though, it is pretty damn bad and you really have to look around it a lot.
I know this is old, but I have to ask...
1) Do some of you REALLY think the 350Z is better looking? Seriously?
2) Why do you think it's more practical? Have you ever tried to use an S2000 as an "everyday" car? I think the S2000 is more practical.
3) Have you ever heard an S2000 with a good exhaust? Invidia doesn't count. One of the sexiest cars I've ever heard (Ferrari not included) is an S2000 with a test pipe and HKS exhaust
4) Does "fun to drive" mean anything to you? Or just street rep? Numbers aside, S2000s are FAR more fun to drive.
5) Headroom???? How can the solid top 350Z have more headroom? WTF? You can lower the set too.
6) For those of you worried about interior space, have you ever tried adjusting the seat? I know of 6'6" 250lb + people who fit comfortable in their S2000. I'm 5'10" and if I put the seat all the way back, I can't reach the pedals.

2.because it is, because i can put a cooler back there and reach behind me and get a dink when i want one, or have other items within arms reach
3.yes, i still think they sound like pingy hondas, i think the sound of the v-6 is way more sexy
4.could you be more biased?
5.cause when its raining you have to have the top up... so that would be the obvious head room issue
6.im 5'10 and i feel crampedin a s2k, i dont like the s2ks as much as 350zs, that my opinion, i wont go out of my way to make a stupid 1,2,3,4,5,6 post trying to make me feel better about it.

Which car looks better is just opinion, I was just suprised to hear quite a few people like the 350Zs looks more. In my opinion, it's over styled and won't stand the test of time. It looks bloated to me next to an S2000 and the drop top ones look horrid.
I guess if you want a cooler within arms reach, then yes, the 350 is the better choice. I was referring to trunk room, of which the S2000 has a surprising amount and the 350 lacks due to that strut bar. Honestly the 350Z is probably the more practical car, but not by as much as most would think.
Sound is a toss-up for me. Stock I think it's no contest, the 350Z sounds better. But with good aftermarket systems on both cars I like the S2000, but only just.
Of course stuff like "fun to drive" is subjective, although there seems to be a general consensus that S2000s are a little more fun to drive hard. The flip side is they are more of a pain in the ass to drive slow.
You're my height, I don't see how headroom could be a factor for you. I've got about 3-4" above my head when I'm in the car and I sit pretty upright when I'm driving, like I said, I've seen 6'5" plus people fit in an S2000 comfortably. Shoulder room and freedom of movement are a different story. The 350Z definitely has a more open "cockpit".
Don't get butt hurt, I never said the 350Z is a pile of crap. In fact, I said just the opposite. I like the cars, so much so that I almost traded my old S2000 for one. In the end the S2000 suited me better so I kept it. Now that I've got one of the newer S2000s, I think I'm even happier with my decision. I honestly don't think the two cars are even in the same category. I think the 350Z competes more favorably with the Mustang segment than the S2000 segment. If practicality was an issue, I'd look at an STi or Evo.
