JAMES CITY - A Newport News man accused in the thefts of several flat-screen televisions from a James City County time-share resort this summer pleaded guilty Friday to his role in the heist.
Thaddaus Kelly, 18, pleaded guilty to three counts of grand larceny and three counts of breaking and entering. In exchange for his plea, prosecutors dropped three more charges of each.
The charges stem from early August, when 18 plasma and LCD televisions were stolen from six unoccupied suites at the Powhatan Plantation resort off Ironbound Road. Robert Tyler, a former James City County assistant commonwealth's attorney, said Friday that the TVs, which ranged from 27-inch to 42-inch models, were worth about $26,000.
Tyler was with James City when the case began but left to work in the Charles City County commonwealth attorney's office. He returned Friday to prosecute the Kelly case.
Kelly is one of 11 defendants charged in the thefts. Co-defendant Rontrais Parker, also scheduled for trial Friday, didn't show up in court, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Other co-defendants — including Kenneth Wright, Khristopher Wright, Nikitta Booker and Yolanda Fauntleroy — have cases scheduled for trial Tuesday in Williamsburg-James City County Circuit Court. Kevin Jackson's case is set for trial Jan. 17, and Demetrius Ammons' case will come before a grand jury this month.
Three other co-defendants — Jimmy Jurado, Ashley Oblein and Andre Reid — have pleaded guilty.
Oblein and Reid are scheduled for sentencing Jan. 17. Jurado's sentencing is Feb. 26

Bitch you are 18 years old, and have brought yourself a long criminal record already. Hopefully you have already been Court Marshalled from the military, and you spend at least 5 years in a state pen.
What is more sad, is you have wasted your life. Kids are allowed to make mistakes, you must be braindead.
for people starting to go to jail
