wow.... lots of great info. thanks for not flaming.
i was really thinking about an s2k too but i cant find any in my price range it seems. i love it... its a honda of course, but something about it just doesnt jump out at me...
basically the age thing is an agreement i made with my wife. i have a 94 teg that i tinker with but its not reliable. hopefully newer means more reliable. i wont just buy a car. i plan on doing my homework and not getting a ride thats been beat up.
i've found a few. im looking in several states

350z hands down and I'm not just saying to be biast since I own one myself, I'm also saying it because I test drove s2000s, RSX-S, rx8s, all of these cars had one thing in common, NO TORQUE
the only car that kinda pushed me back to my seat was the s2000, and that was at like 5500 rpm. The Z is just an all around fast car, plenty of torque, both high and low end, looks great for it's price, I still remember people coming up to me asking me how much my car was and their reaction when I told I 'em it was a measly $28000 lol , they all thought it's a $50,000 car back in the day, but now they're pretty common and very cheap used, hence the reason I'm selling the Z for a viper.
Fantastic looks, good power for a stock car for it's price, phenomenal handling, and the car sounds amazing
Not to mention it's got one of the biggest market for aftermarket parts.
