yea that is pretty awesome that they stage the fake arrests and leave the car open to get stolen. very clever and like i said before NNPD or VBPD should do this
maybe if they had a few of the cops here do that in VB and NN and maybe some of the thefts would stop. very good idea though
Personally, I think it's pretty obvious that it doesn't have THAT MUCH of an impact... There will always be another ten thieves to replace the one that they lock up.
We use those Remote Kill boxes at my dealership. That's how we can sell cars to people with challenged credit. If they don't make the payment, we shut the car off till they do, or we come get it. Comes in very handy. You usually don't have any more payment problems out of people once you shut there car once or twice. (Ours don't kill the car while it's moving, but once they turn it off, it won't restart.)
Is that legal? I would expect there has to be some sort of discloser? If old girl is a little late on her payment and suddenly she can't get her baby to the hospital...

ive seen these advertised in my dealer magazines. how much does this unit cost, installed? and is it easy to self install? not that i have to worry cause i never want to mess around with in house financing.

I like the idea of something like that as a way of protecting your own vehicle.
Yeah when I first saw it they were saying "here in Richmond we set up an Integra.. blah blah blah" I was like "woah in VA huh?" But then it was all in Cally... so

You're right. but maybe, just maybe it could catch the right person who is responsible for the majority of the thefts here. isnt it someone with a tow truck or something like that?

what if they stall on railroad tracks or something? sounds kind of dangerous.
