Default em1 help

Check engine light came on for no apparent reason
Checked gas cap
Oil
Idles fine
Everything seems ok
Anyone have any ideas?

Take it to autozone and have them retrieve the code for you (free) and then you will know exactly what is wrong.

Or you could of done it at home with a piece of wire and knowing where to plug them in at & read the check engine light (how many blinks)

he has an obd2 car. that is what a em1 is. the best thing is to go and get it plugged in. obd1 cars you can jump it but you can not on an obd2 car. like the em1 & only guy said.

....ummmm no.... look again. All 92-00 civics (and 94-01 integras).... regardless of model, made within those years has an integrated "clip" in which you can check the CEL code via a series of blinks.... same as OBD1....

well i just read the whole thing and it says that you have to use a plug in. "scan tool" i dont see where you can check it by jumping the termals on it. i didnt think i was blind

I have an OBD2 car and I jump mine all the time when the light comes on. Paperclip are my friendz.
