IMO stay away from them. The trans' are junk and the interior sucks in every way. After working on and driving a friends 06' I'm not really impressed and would never own one. With all the typical bolt ons its still a pig and after 2 grand worth of sway bars and coil overs it just handles ok. The motors arent bad platforms to work with but all in all I think the bad outweighs the good.

 

 

i guess there are always lemons or cars that just have problems all the time,but i still love a suby. When i had my wrx i only had little minor things give me problems which were taken care of with supplemental mods or tuning, my buddy travis's 04 sti and his 05 wrx never had a single problem and ran great, especially the sti. And my friend Rob(Twelvz) has been beating the living crap out of his 02 bugeye everyday for 5 years now, car runs mid 12 second quarters and slaps people around on the street everyday, he broke one tranny like 4 years ago and thats it. no motor problems at all, i believe he made 303whp on his race gas tune and 270 something on his street map tune, of course some upgrades were made,but he did everything right and hasnt had any problems. The car handles superbly and is really fun to drive, i for one say hell yea for subaru.

 

The only problem I had with my 07 WRX to date is this big annoying thing in the front of the car that gave me problems. It is called... a deer.

I dont race it but it does have a bit of understeer. Its probably the driver haha.

I think the 07 has the nicest interior but thats just my own opinion.

 

I disagree about their handling - it handles like pig. I've run several setups on my wrx and have never been impressed with its handling. My e30 on junk ebay springs handles nicer than my wrx on tanabe gf210s and kyb agx (admittedly not the best suspension set up).

 

Yeah, like you said, not the best setup at all. Those are very soft springs. They do give it a decent stance, though.

 

Yeah, I'm fairly happy with the stance - its decent enough for me. Thus far I've run omnipower coilvers (do no buy - worst product I've ever purchased) and oem sti janks.
