Default Toyota Tacoma Door Locks.

Basically, I'm looking for tips/advice and a ball park of what this repair may cost.

A couple weeks ago, my keys started being real "iffy" when it came to unlocking the doors (manual locks, 2door, regular cab Tacoma). As of a few days ago, they will no longer turn the locks. I found out the hard way and had to call AAA and a locksmith came and popped the lock.

So now I'm left with the dilemma of having to keep the doors unlocked or locking them and leaving a window rolled down to where I can reach the lock inside. Pretty sweet huh?

I'm just trying to get a feel for what I'm looking at spending before I get a locksmith out here and am blown away. I have a spare key that's equally as ineffective at turning the locks, so I think it's genuinely the locks that are worn, not the keys.

What do you guys think I'm looking at spending on having the locks replaced? Or at least the driver's door lock.

Thanks for any advice/estimates/tips!

option 1 dont know if you have tried this yet but work alot on older car that have locks that are frooze up. try putting some wd40 on the key and put it in the lock and try and turn it a few time. lock the door with the key in the lock from the outside .(keep door open) alot of times this will free the lock up and make it work normally again.

option 2 keyless entry runs about 100.00 aywhere u go.

option 3 go to junk yard and pull new lock and try to get a key from there or get one made .

option 4 check to see if you have any warr through dealer ship.
