I'm not a vendor, but I need vendor status to advertise events in the dc/nova/md forum occasionally.

My friend owns 3D Productions, and I'm helping to promote the club by spreading the word and flier for his events about once a month or every couple of months. I don't want to sell anything in the Vendor forum, or in the sponsorship or anything, I just want to promote my friend's company and their edm parties once in a while. Oh and this is a club/party company so they don't make any money off cars or car services or car products, but I know some people on this board would be interested. I'm not advertising any services or anything.

Is there any way to get around the vendor rule, so I can post up an event once in a while?

 

No. You are advertising so therefore you need to be a sponsor.

what? but I'm not making money or taking business away from vadriven....its like how some people advertise car meets....i'm advertising an event, not a product or service or anything...

 

You're still advertising and hosting an event is a service.

 

what about an event like a meet at a movie theater or something....where everyone meets up, gets food, and watches a movie at a selected place, thats advertisement for someone else's restaurant and movie theater, someone else is making money....

In any event, you were advertising and need a sponsor account if you want to continue to do so. No more discussion about what-ifs.

 

its not the exact same situation, obviously. but its also not a what-if....i'm stating an analogy, in which other people currently make similar posts, but thats cool, thanks for letting me know
