THey are always in the springfield area also. They will sniff cars as they drive by and if your car gets hit 3 times with bad emissions they will send you a letter to re-do your emissions.

 

I think the state sends you a summons in the mail to report to an emissions testing facility. As mentioned earlier, 66&ffx pkwy, and 66&28/29 ramps are frequent spots.

Wonder what happens if you live in a VA county that doesn't require emissions testing? Guess they don't send you anything?

 

From what I've heard, they do. I forget the gay ruling on it, but it has something to do with the fact that if you dive through there they consider you a commuter and need to abide by the laws of that area. It's really gay and ridiculous.

 

i wonder what would happen to my car then. I already did the last emissions ever needed for this car (its 23 years old and i got a 2 year sticker). Would they still give me shit for it since its old?

it is just a white van, look out for it on exits usually. and most of the time there are cones set up and a sign saying survaliance ahead. I have went through many of these with my car(when I had it) I would just speed up a little then cut the engine and coast around the exit. I never got a ticket, but if they did catch you, you wouldn't know it till you got a ticket in the mail.
