That fiberglass actually looks pretty damn smooth. Having worked with it before to make simple stuff I know how much of a pain in the ass it can be. I can't say I would feel confident trying to make fenders, haha.

lol, im not so confident i kind of just dived in.... id like to redo it again and use a roller this time to get the bubbles out... i mgiht end up ditching the idea, but im going to smother some fiberglass bondo all over it in last ditch efforts to get it smoothened out. if not, then no worries

Kitty hair? You're gonna have the same effect w/ pin holes/the bubbles you speak of... I'd get a tube of icing and do a thin coat of that and block that down... Prime, block, prime, block, block block block block... Did I mention you need to do some block work?
