I don't know if Steve's car is together... The last time I heard anything about it, the car was apart for a turbo build...

I will probably be the only guy without a power adder.
I would love to have you there! I will let get your name on the list shortly!

Also everyone remember were only doing the 10 fastest from each class for the average. Everyone is more then welcome to come and race though. We can have as many cars as we want for each class!

I am going to TRY and do VMP first just because its kind of mid point for everyone. But, I would much rather have it at MIR also. Jason Miller is a cool as dude (track owner/manager) And i would much rather give my money to him rather then VMP. But we will see how things play out with VMP in the next few day, I am still waiting to here back from there track manager.

As far as the Maryland boys go, I would love to have them! I know of novi's car and would love to have it in class1. As long as the other f-body guys fit they can be in class 1 also. But, I am going to be VERY VERY strict on what goes in class 1. If they dont fit, they are all more then welcome to go in class 2. We will not turn anyone anyway if they want to race. If any car cant fit into class2, I will have some sort of exhibition thing going on for those guys also. Feel free to make a thread about it any were you would like!

Yes your car drives on the street but it is not a driver,it's a weekend toy. You want to go get in a class against driver cars even though class two was made for your setup. Most of the class one cars will still have all the factory stuff in the car, for example, my cars has heat,a/c,ABS,two airbags, power windows, a full stereo and every other thing that was on the car the day it came off dealers lot. You are just makin yourself sound like a kid complaining about these rules. And as far as all this safety talk bs...... the racing sanctions are way behind on the modern performance car as it doesnt take wheelstands and slicks and skinnies to run deep in the nines or eights anymore. Yeah I'll have a sixpoint in the car but I don't feel unsafe given the fact the car still has airbags and abs working. Just bring your car and run it in the class that it fits in given the intention of this event. Its already been said that 9.50's will be the game for class 1and you want to bring your 8 sec streetable racecar out to prove something to a bunch of STREET CARS.
I was thinking the same thing! Everyone's voice was heard for class 1, I tried to be as fair as i could with both sides and still keep this thing what it was meant to be in the first place. I cant please everyone though. But for the most part i am confident that most everyone is happy with the rules we have now!

WOW all over a little 2v turbo lol....So are since you contacted all those people was that just for help on coming up with ideas? or are you actually gonna have some promoting done as well? I think it would be nice if you could maybe post something up on the mid atl website (being that your hosting it and all) that has all the rules that way we can spread the word a little bit better to get people out there and they dont have to read through all of our thread to get the info (i this thread is a bit long)...Is there gonna be a spectating fee? will people that are racing get to bring a certain amount of people with their paid entry?

It started off talking to them just for ideas about the rules and what not ,But that turned into LONG conversations about everything. I have a few big named mag writers willing to come and do a write up on it depending on the date it takes place. I wont name any names yet until we decide on a date. Apparently there is a lot of interest in this kind of thing for the class 1 cars, a lot more then i ever would have thought. I also wanted to here some of the opinions of import guys that were not involved in the rules debate.

I am not sure yet on the price for spectating or racing, I wont know that until a track is decided. I dont want to charge anything for watching, But i might have to depending on what the track charges for the rental. If there is a fee, it wont be much, maybe like 2 or 3 bucks a head is what i am thinking. And once the rental is paid for, i will take what ever is left and give it all to the winner of class 2, Or spread it out into some cash prizes for all the racers. I have no desire to make any profit off this deal, I just want people to come out and have a good time!

EDIT...... I will also get these up on my site sometime today also!

quick clarification on the tire rule... FWD guys are allowed to change tires at the track... would anyone be a opposed to an AWD car doing the same? Doesn't matter to me too much I'll drive there on whatever set of tires I have to to fit the rules, just want clarification so I can plan accordingly. Reason being I'd rather road trip on a $60/tire set than a $150/tire set, knowing the condition of Richmond roads, and no other reason. This is in reference to class 1 and both sets of tires are DOT legal.

I totally agree, I will clarify that in the rules. Any car can change to a approved tire once they make it to the track import or domestic.

That's a point, but since most of us frequent MIR, I don't know if many would see it as an issue. It would certainly increase the car count. I will leave it to the powers that be for any further comment.
