Default Emissions Question

I have a guy interested in buying a car from me but he lives up north where they require emissions testing. I dont know much about this but the sale is pending on whether or not the car will pass.

Its a basically stock type r motor with ctr pistons and stock gsr exhaust....

The car does not smoke at all if that matters

Just wondering if it would have any problems or if there is no way to tell until it is tested....

Thanks for any and all help.

Really no way to tell until it gets tested.

I know cars that come straight from the dealership that have failed emission test.

Depends on how well maintained your car is. Replacing the spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter, PCV valve and oil regularly will help it pass.

Filling up your fuel tank with gasoline that contains 10% ethanol alcohol (many premium grade fuels use alcohol as an octane booster) may help lower your emissions.

Just before the test, make sure your vehicle is at normal operating temperature. Take it out for a short spin down the expressway. This will heat up the oxygen sensor and catalytic converter to minimize emissions.
