Pierobon is an Italian frame-builder that has been supplying components for race bikes for over 50 years. It’s a familiar name around the MotoGP paddock and since the company is based in Bologna, it’s especially associated with Ducati. In 2006, Pierobon created the track-only F042 Supertwin racebike, a light and flickable machine designed to house aircooled Ducati motors. Two years later, the street version arrived, and Pierobon has just relaunched that bike as the ‘hstreet’, with the new livery you see here. The frame uses big aluminum tubes, the wheels are featherweight 17” items, and the complete bike weighs just 140kg. You can buy the frame and build your own bike, but to take it on the road in Europe you’ll need expensive legal approvals.

I think it could be cool, if done correctly. I didn't read much of it, but I wonder how durable are they.

I figure it's some type of borosilacate glass like Pyrex. That's used a lot in industrial applications for sight glasses and autoclave stuff, so it's strong as hell and can do much higher temps than engines need.

EDIT: Thanks to the above link about durability, I found it:

It is borosilicate glass, some special type. My intuition was correct, that's always nice.

i just sold one. It was an EF AWD SI. It was bad ass but still not dope status worthy. Sorry to bring up a topic from pages ago but coming from a honda guy i think most hondas are not worthy of this thread including, but not limited to EG JDM AWD civics.

I don't know what a wig-wag pattern is, but I'm sure you could get someone to make you some glass stacks. As long as you can control the inside diameter of the stack, the glass can be bonded into an aluminum adapter (or something like that) so that it can be easily mounted to the throttle body. There are definitely structural adhesives that can handle that, especially if the glass can be mechanically frosted or chemically etched.

It doesn't matter if each aluminum adapter needs to be a slightly different size for each stack; the only important thing is the inner diameter (and consistent shape) of the glass stacks. I've seen blown glass oil tanks and catch cans, so why not velocity stacks?

That would be crazy looking though, and it wouldn't matter how insanely heavy they'd be if it was a street car.

If you're actually serious about doing something like that, get in touch with Cosmo. He's a glass blower, or at least he was at some point.
