My New Time Attack Car Build Thread
Its sitting pretty high because the car only has half the engine in it and the trans. Its still a lot higher than I thought it would be considering these are like 2in drop springs. This is a good sign though, it might actually be lighter than I was originally planning. I'll get it up on the scales after I get the engine in. New suspension is in the werks, I gotta get this thing running and driving first though.

So the factory brake booster is gigantic. It's a very large diameter piece that comes extremely close to the LS1 heads. I have heard of one guy that used a Mercedes dual diaphragm brake booster which is smaller in diameter but has 2 diaphragms so its actually more surface area. He had to make an adapter bracket and make some other modifications that I didn't really follow. Anyways, I couldn't find out what car it came out of so I had to try and figure it out on my own. I went to the junkyard just looking for ANY Mercedes brake boosters. I found a 1990 S class and it had a perfect ATE dual diaphragm booster on it that looked like it was what I was looking for. I got back home and found out that I had found exactly what I needed. The booster bolted right up to the firewall and the master cylinder bolted right up to the booster. The only thing I had to modify was the fork that mounted to the pedal. I'm really stoked about this find. For $33 I feel like I made out lol.

That's awesome Mike, I'm glad you got that solved so easily! Prepare for something super easy to be really complicated now, the car gods don't like it when you actually accomplish fast, cheap, and easy!
Ok so the engine is in. The headers are next. Slowly but surely stuff is getting done! Been busy but with the car at Ramey Built and BC aka the wizard working on it I have some help and motivation to get it done.

That's a 5.5" ATI Super Damper, they asked if I was sure that was the one I wanted when I bought it because they don't sell too many of them. No power steering or AC. 25% underdrive. Just the water pump and alternator will be run off of it.
