Re: Speedometer, tach, temp gauge not working!
So i am just trying to get the car on the road so i may just put the cap back on until i buy a new rotor, screw and igniter! But i still have to figure the speedometer out i checked for power at the instrument panel for the speedometer wire and there was no power but the car was on a jack so i didnt put the car in gear i'm thinking it might have to be moving to get the pulses?

Sounds like a blown fuse or a short in a wiring harness. Had the same kind of issues when I owned a GSR a short while ago. It was a short in the wiring for the fucking o2 sensor that was blowing a fuse that had to do with the speedomoter and tach. Good luck.

Yes, the vehicle speed pulses are only output when the vehicle speed sensor detects movement. There are a certain number of pulses per revolution (12 I think, but I don't remember).

Fabrik i measured the voltage on the pulsating wire and before even turning the wheel there was 4.9v at the plug and 4.7 at the instument panel! do you know what this tells me? lol cause im stuck! is it a break in the wire a bad ground?

Ok so today i decided i was gonna overlook the tach and put the dizzy cap back on! put it back on and now it wont start! fuel pump is coming on..i checked the blue wire at the passenger fender well at 1.6v..then tested at the 2 pin plug .6v just before it and on the other side the 2 pin plug closest to the dizzy it was .1v and at the instrument panel it was 0v i'm just wondering if the ignition control module could be my problem for the tach and the not starting problem! i'm gonna check for spark tommorow! Thanks everyone for trying to help!
