FWIW if you've got your valve cover ports going to the intake tube or TB then you can get oil into the intak tract to where it'll drip out the filter. In your application I think air coming through the radiator would blow that oil all over right?
If this is all you have then you could be getting oil into the intake and then having it come out the filter. You need cans on each of those lines on most tracked LS1s. At extended high RPM oil hangs up in the head and it can get forced out of the fresh air feed line (normally air flows into the head to balance PCV presure) and into the TB.

The first time out on the track and only have PVC line issues...that's not to bad at all. That's something you can get sorted out pretty easily. I'd offer help, but I don't know the answers. I don't drive mine hard enough to need anything other than the way it came from GM.

The gearbox was definitely worth the headaches! I love it. Wish it was a 5 speed but it works great.
