i have seen this car listed on nasioc.com and i mean if i was looking for a sti cheap i would get it, a sti block with upgraded pistons can be had for 2500$ and the rods in the sti are good for well over 600whp. if someone wants to make a good turn around on a car buy this for 18000 + 1500 for a new block throw it in there and sell it for 25000. not to bad if you ask me. or buy it part it out make some mad cash and sell if for stock for 24,500 haha.

I'd but that and not even worry about what shape the current engine is in. For that price if you need a new block, you're still way ahead of the game in cost. I'd check for some kind of collision history though, I'll bet there is more to this than funny engine noises. Actually, 50k on a 2005 tends to make the price drop a bit too.
