I used my AAA card at LensCrafters for some Rx glasses. That discount covered about 3yrs worth of membership dues.

Definitely worth it for me especially if I use my 4 tows a year (up to 100 miles each tow) which I have. Also with the tows, it can be in any car you're in so if you're in your friends car or your girls car and you break down, give AAA a call. Also, if you lock your keys in the car, give AAA a call.

how much do you pay monthly or yearly? and does it vary between different people?

I want to get it soon. I'll be going out of town this week and want the peace of mind..

$87/year Plus Membership.

They didn't look up my record or anything, so I don't think if varies between people.

AAA is nice when you get the right operator. Otherwise it SUCKS......

Last week I had a flat tire on exit 8 in SC off of 95, I called and was told they could:
A) tow my car
B) put my spare on for me
C) try to find somewhere to get it fixed

I chose C, was put on hold for 20min and screwed

I called back, and in 3min had directions to a place that was open on new year's day that could repair my leaky tire.

100mi tow for free was nice with my hybrid, every time I broke something I would be towed home or to the shop for free.

How does AAA compare to All State Motor club? I have All state one, because they tow motorcycles as well. They also gave me back some money when I had to pay for a lawyer.
