I agree with the hit/miss.... I'm fine where I am, but about 4 -8 blocks in any direction and I don't go unarmed.... you'll be able to tell where because the police practically blockade some neighborhoods from everywhere else... prepare to pay a little more though...
or you can pay less if you like the excitement.

 

i live in alexandria, have been for over 10yrs, never had many problems, theft is normal around here if you don't keep your car in a garage. cops are a hassle sometimes too, i like it here though. if you're not moving or working in old town alexandria, you should probably be fine as most of old town is pretty ghetto and you'll never find parking there...

 

Alexandria isn't that bad......at all. I think they're at 3 homicides for the year.

maryland is right there as well as DC. If you want alcohol after 9pm Clubs, bars,

old town as stated, Rosslyn , GW parkway.
all of the big areas of NOVA are right down the street beltway/parkway..

Yeah there is places where its ghetto but, thats like that at any place in virginia..except the kuntry..


Everything is relativly close up here so i think you might like it besides the beach... i cant get away from that beach..

Not bad if you know where you are. Just like any other city type.. u have the bad and good.
