take the coarse before you go to court, looks way better to the judge. You don't need a useless ass crooked lawyer.

This is very true. Take the coarse that way it shows you have taken action for you responsibilities. Tell the judge what had happened and try to go take pictures where it happened and draw a diagram of the incident. That way the judge will be impressed and knows that you know your shit. Do it and do not hire a lawyer at all.

PS: Take the coarse behind the ukrops on route 10. It's a Saturday course and the old dude is funny ass shit and gives you like 40 smoking breaks

 

There is a very simple reason why so many people are advising the OP to get advice from a lawyer. Reckless driving is a serious charge that is not the same as an equipment violation or simple speeding, it is a misdemeanor and there is the possibility of a large fine and/or jail time...$2500 and/or 1 year in jail is the max punishment. That's why it is a mandatory court appearance. Even if he gets a slap on the wrist for a punishment but he is convicted of reckless driving, then he will still have it on his driving record and the insurance company will pick it up. Not only that, but he will also have a criminal record and will always have to put that conviction on job applications, etc.

The OP may be able to argue it down to a lesser charge on his own, but it's a crap shoot so why take the risk. A lawyer will know what the judge wants to hear and will be able to present an argument that will either get the charge thrown out or at the very least reduced to a civil infraction.

you do not need a lawyer to represent you...i mean you defending yourself looks better than a lawyer...if you have a lawyer you are just admitting you did something wrong...

Take pictures of the popped tire and wheel. Go to a tire shop and have them inspect the tire and write an assesment basically saying the tire failed before impact.

I had the exact same ticket with a very similar situation, took pics of the hole int he tire to court and the ticket was dropped. Granted this wasn't in Chesterfield Co. but that's what I did.
