My New Time Attack Car Build Thread
I finished relocating the coils today, turned out pretty nice. Thanks to BC for making the coil brackets. After talking with BC I decided to mount them up under the cowl where the heater core used to be. Only problem was I had to pull the dash back out and figure out how I was going to mount them. So I removed the block off panel (by drilling out 20 rivets lol) to mount the coils to it. This made it a lot easier to work with. After I re installed the panel with a little help from my dad, the plug wires didn't take too long to run. Looks pretty cool. Here are a couple pics.

Questions... why not just run the coil packs in their normal OEM location? People usually relocate the coil-packs when they want to purdy up the engine bay and run fancy valve covers.
My biggest reason was because of heat. I haven't specifically heard of any cases where heat caused an LS coil pack to fail but heat will shorten the life of any coil pack. Not really interested in fancy valve covers though :/
Gotcha... I guess It couldn't hurt. FWIW I've never heard of anyone ever having an issue with a coil-pack on one of these motors and nobody relocates them.
Since you went ahead and relocated them you need some of these
