I just hope you're using jack stands too.

I've even seen and heard of people using the jack handle on the Hi-Lift's as tie rods when in a pinch trying to limp home.

Again, $65 shipped from Summit... Hi-Lift.. of the 48" flavor. Any bigger would be unnecessary for a Jeep IMO.
I can max out a 48 hi lift when trying to jack my Jeep up enough to get the tire of the ground when the front end is disconnected. My friends YJ with the revolver shackles maxes out the hi lift and the wheels are still touching. And whats wrong with using the rocker guard and a lift point for the hi lift? Most people make the mistake of using the round tube (if it's built into the slider) but if you use the actual rocker there isn't an issue there. But I agree don't ever trust a high lift. They can fall over anytime with just a nudge on the vehicle. On the trails if we use one and it's unstable we place bolders underneath the vehicle to catch some it's fall just incase.

first of all the all terrains was the previous owner.... i just put the dura-trac's on a couple days ago.

second, i dont rock crawl with this thing. at all. and have no intention to do so..... so "departure angle" doesnt really bother me.... besides... if i was at that angle where the jack is scraping.... my front tires would be off the ground completely.

and thats funny you say about that jack....if im doing something with that jack that is strong enough to BEND metal that thick then im clearly misusing the jack. and this is my 3rd "torin" jack and i've never had one fail, bend, break, or malfunction on me at all.
Just don't be under the vehicle if you are using the farm jack. I've seen them break and bend handles. The "hi lift" brand for the extra money is worth it.

Yes sir I agree with you and do believe it's coming. Only a matter of time..

But you got to admit, you lost.

Edit -- I thought better of it and removed it, was pretty funny IMO, but people get butthurt too easily round these parts

i would never be under ANY jack, ANY brand. and trust it. i always work with jackstands, etc....

and from the way you talk about it.... NO jack (hi-lift or not) is trustworthy.
