My New Time Attack Car Build Thread
Makes sense... it's supposed to be wet this weekend. That'd suck getting a bunch of surface rust on the cage bars only to have to deal with cleaning that up for paint etc.
Still got some teething issues to take care of but I got to at least test the car. For whatever reason, oil leaks from some unknown location appeared this weekend. The leaks are definitely associated with high G loads in corners but I haven't figured out where its coming from yet. But rather than risk a fire I just decided to keep the car off the track. Car seemed to be fine on the straights though. Here's half a lap.

Pretty much both sides of the engine bay were soaked, probably about 1/4QT of oil accumulated each time I went out. Its pretty much everywhere. I thought it was blowing out of the valve cover gaskets so I replaced those. Didn't fix it, some how its on the front of the engine in front of the intake manifold, on the oil pan, and on the transmission. On the last run of the day the clutch started slipping so it might be the rear main but that wouldn't explain any of the oil in the engine bay. I'm confused.

Sounds like the oil leak is coming from teh front? Is there any up top or is all down below?
Spray everything down with some simplegreen and wash it off, then see if it will blow oil at idle.
My first guess would be sump/oil pan.
Second would be intake manifold.
Could it also be the front crank seal?
