let make a car specific thread(dsmers)
Eh, that's arguable. Most of the big money races in the hardcore street racing capitals of the world usually spray VHT and torch it to get it sticky, but of course it's organized street racing--not Roanoke GoMart GangstaKrewz.
If it were me, I'd want every advantage I could get. Traction is an important advantage.

Exactly.
High horsepower street cars have really trouble from a dig. Even these AWD cars are spinning.
Any big race between street cars with high horsepower usually allows anything they need to get traction on the street. Without this, the match isn't a good determinant of the fastest car.
I guess my wording was bad, i don't think i properly made my point. I'm a big fan of "run what you brung", but there's a point where it just gets stupid. If you have to call out a car that is less of a race car than yours, you're pathetic in my opinion. I would never go call out some stock car, just like the morons that trailor out their full blown race cars and try to call out my car that I drive further in one day then there car has been in driven in 3 years. My car is set up to be driven on a regular basis, several days a week, and make it's power consistantly with minimal breakage. I expect to find the same in an opponent on the street. If you roll up on a trailor and I drive in you better not try to talk a word of shit to me. I don't care about tire as long as the car is built to the same class of car mine is. Get my point? There are guys up here that have 5.80 1/8th mile cars that they bring out on a trailor and try to call out street cars like mine, and it's pathetic. Their shit would fall apart if they tried to drive it as much as I drive mine. Run what you brung but don't call out cars that are of a lower class.
But yes Ben, I agree. You could just take it to the track... Saying no VHT or limiting tire because it is unfair to the AWD car isn't a good compromise and is just as hypocritical. You're only giving the AWD car more of an advantage.
So, since it is a street race, you should be able to do a roll also to even it up..

Yeah these guys just prefer to shut down an entire stretch of the highway for their race.

They always do that. There are a bunch of bad ass cars that run that stretch.
Exactly.

Oh ok. I understand and agree completely except for one thing. These "street" cars are still street cars either way, whether trailored or not. Street to me is defined as street legal. With high horsepower comes high chances of breaking stuff. I trailor my very reliable slightly modified BMW to the track. Why take a chance? The car still drives like a champ any other time. See what I'm saying?
