first do 40 to all of them, starting in the center going out then 75-80 should do it

try autozone.com

or even honda-tech.com

80ft/lb is to high

PS: are you using ARP studs, then a nut? or ARP BOLTS? there is a difference!!!

im using studs i know you are supposed to hand tighten the studs then the nut will pull it down to the proper specs per arp website but thats about as detailed as it gets

i tourqued my arp studs to about 25ft/lbs, then i torqued the nuts to about 35, then retorqued them again to about 60-65ft/lbs

yeah but what setup did you have them on because i was under the impression that the ls,vtec was different depending on the head t block application?

not true only depends on the block. ARP head studs are different lengths for B16 block than a B18a/b block and the GSR/ITR studs are the ones you want for LS-VTEC / B20-VTEC. the B18C block deck sits slightly higher than B16/18. ARP recommends 65ft-lbs. If you bought the studs used, and if you can't find ARP moly lube, use solid 30w oil (not 10w30). If you do this, torque the studs down to 80 ft/lbs, as per ARP's instruction sheet (read it carefully!!!). To torque the head down, you do it in 25 ft/lb increments. First 25 ft/lbs, then 50, then 65 (if using ARP supplied moly lube), or to 75 and then 80 (if using 30w oil). After you torque to the final torque value, go back and retorque in the proper order, to the same final torque value (65 or 80 depending on what lube you use).

the torque spec are- wet torque with ARP assembly lube 85ft/lb and 80ft/lbs with motor oil. if you want to be safe you can do a 2 step process with 40ft/lb then the 80ft/lb but arps hold 80- 85ft/lb no problem. and yes hand tight the stud with allen wrench first in the block. it may be the oposite way with the lube the numbers may be switched,so do your research!!

gl, im doing the same thing but whole rebuild this weekend.
