Painting Helmet?

Hey I got a free Shoei RF-900 and it is white but it is kinda ugly. If i just wanna spray paint it do i have to perp or anything or do i just spray away. Perpping i mean sanding or anything.

yes you always need to prep it unless you are okay with paint just falling off and fisheyeing everywhere.

You could prob have it done by a pro for next to nothing. Ask a body shop. It's only like 2 sq feet max.

Be careful what type of paint they use, they plasticiser in the helmet can migrate to the paint, making really flexible paint and a brittle helmet. Not often a problem, but just make sure whoever does it knows what they're doing.
