i have a ls motor....if my pcv valve isnt hooked up right would that effect idle and boost if the motor was turboed??

 

Idle can be affected sometimes, yes. As far as a boost problem, it would really depend on how the PCV was hooked up. All kinds of idle and boost problems can be caused by incorrect vac line hookup though, so grab a manual or take a look at someone else's engine if you think you've got something installed wrong. A good side-by-side look is the easiest, decoding vac diagrams in a service manual is a pain in the butt.
