Big thumbs up to Knaack (Weather Guard) customer service
I purchased a Knaack (Weather Guard) headache rack for my F350 diesel and it was backordered like a motherfucker due to the Christmas season. Got it in last Friday from FedEx.
FedEx tracking records showed that box 2/2, the mounting kit, was delivered on the 16th. Box 1/2, the rack itself, was just chillin' on the same truck for two more days "out for delivery" as they were shipped at the same time and arrived in Richmond together. FedEx delivery guy came up on Friday with the rack in hand and rang the doorbell. Didn't park in the driveway (rarely do) so he just walked away. I opened up the door and he hauls ass back to his truck. He waves, then comes back up after I shut the door and drops off the empty cardboard shipping box.
What. The. Fuck.
I call up FedEx as soon as I notice that included in the box was supposed to be a "hardware kit" (ie: all of the nuts and bolts that are used for assembly). Of course, it's not there. FedEx says they will come by sometime within the next 10 days to pick up the item in the original box and ship it back then I can work it out with the manufacturer to get a refund.
What. The. Fuck.
I call up the manufacturer, wait 2 minutes on hold, get an American speaking English in the customer service department. I tell him that my shipment was missing the hardware kit for model 1908 headache rack. He asks for my name and address, then tells me it will be shipped out tomorrow morning. I ask if there's any fee, he replies, "of course not, anything else I can help you with today?"
This is why I buy American products from American companies.
Cliff notes:
FedEx lets box 1/2 ride along for a few days on their truck
FedEx delivers me my truck part, runs ways, brings me back the empty box, and goes nom nom on some parts
FedEx tells me they will ship my item back and tells me to call the company for a refund
I call the manufacturer's customer service on a holiday
Weather Guard answers, in English, and ships me out the stuff next day, free, no questions
