hi everyone looking for info just bought some 33/15.50/15 mickey thompson used tires i drive a yj jeep wrangler i plan on doing a 4in lift but i need to know what width wheels i need if anyone has any info pics or has some 4sale let me know thanks

 

i know on my jeep i put my 12.50s on an 8" wheel. im sure you can do the same but if i was mounting something in a 15.50 width id go with some 10" wheels. but you will also need to know what backspacing too.

 

10-12 width is what you want...they may fit on a 8 but look funny...

You can put them on a 15x8, Kinda works like a poor mans bead lock and puffs the tire like a doughnut. Recommended sizes would be to shoot for a 15x10 or 12.

I've got a friend running 35/ 15.5/ 15x8 on his Cherokee at 15lbs in them. If I can find a decent pic of it I'll post it up. He runs in rocks, mud, everything he can find. Hasn't blown a bead yet. Actually he went with us Sun. and I saw it against a rock and knew it was going to loose the bead and it never did...(NOT saying it wouldn't happen).

Rule of thumb is to try to keep the tire width within 4" of wheel width. Obviously it is going to vary by the tire height too. With a 35x15.50 I would recommend at least a 10" wide wheel.

Keep in mind the narrower you go the more prone you are to blowing a bead and just because other people have been fine running a narrower wheel doesn't mean you will be.

i have the same tires, but in 18x9 wheel.

It may not be the widest wheel ever, but it keeps the wheel tucked in out of harms way and stops it from popping off the bead when aired down
